And just like that, August is here! If you have a little one expected to join your family this month, the countdown to meeting them is on! I’m sure you are ready for them to come earthside, as you’ve suffered through the end of your pregnancy during the hot summer. August unofficially marks the end of the season here in the States, with college students beginning to move into the dorms and summer camps coming to an end. The nights will soon start to close the days earlier, with the long hours of summer sunshine wrapping up behind us. And we get to celebrate all of our special August arrivals! Babies who join us during the 8^th month of the year are special. They are exposed to so much vitamin D during their time in the womb, so they tend to have a “sunny” disposition. Another reason they can be such happy little things is they were created during joyous times! If you’re due during the beginning of the month, you likely conceived at the beginning of the holiday season amongst the plans and preps for upcoming Thanksgiving. If you are due toward the end of the 31 days, your baby was conceived around the beginning of December, which we all know is full of the hustle and bustle and togetherness! Between the close-knit feeling of Hanukkah and the joyous anticipation of Christmas and an impending fresh start in the new year, this season brings bliss . . . and an August baby!

The Lion or The Maiden

If your little one arrives any time before the 22^nd of the month, they will be fierce little lions. They’ll fall under the zodiac sign Leo, which is represented by the brave animal. It is a fire sign – ruled by the sun – and is bound to be as confident and bright as you’d assume! Your little Leo is likely to be loyal and protective, which are helpful traits for them on the playground (and in the real world). The lion isn’t only tough, though . . . they are also playful and loving, often being chosen for playdates and social gatherings. You’re bound to have a fun ride with your August Leo.

If your babe makes their appearance after Leo season ends, they will be considered a Virgo. Virgo children are the helpers, great with paying attention to detail and getting the task done. Because of how most districts are set up, your little one will be right on the cut-off. They will either miss the deadline and start the following year, making them the oldest in their class, or they will scoot right in and be one of the youngest.
